The design of the Taipan 28 is based on the Cheoy Lee Cadet, and was build by a neighboring boat yard. Built in 1969, it hull #110. It is a particularly seaworthy design and a pleasure to sail. James Baldwin of Atom Voyages crossed the Pacific in one, and it is likely that this 1 crossed the Pacific once in its past as well. This boat is comfortable in the bay's strong afternoon winds. Recently this boat has been pre-owned as a day sailer, but it still has great potential as a cruiser with very little work to make the interior a bit more homey.
